"IMF Managing Director Strauss-Kahn had been arrested in New York City. Strauss-Kahn also has appointed a legal adviser and the IMF had no comment on the case," said the IMF's Director for External Relations, Caroline Atkinson, as quoted from the IMF website on Monday (16 / 5 / 2011).
The IMF asserted, all claims should be directed to private attorneys Strauss-Kahn as well as local government officials.
"The IMF is still functioning and fully operational," added Atkinson again.
Strauss-Kahn, 62 years old was arrested while going to rape a 32-year-old hotel maid.
