Electricity Tariff Increases, PLN Repair Service Promise

Jakarta - The government plansraise electricity basic tariff ( TDL )10-15% in2012 PLN also promised to improve electricity supplies andservices after any such increase in TDL. "The issue of tariffs and margins domain that the government and Parliament.

PLN wait it out while continuing concentration of supplyand improve the quality of electricity service to the community," saidPresident Director of PLN Dahlan Iskan to detikFinance, Monday (16/05/2011).

Besides the increase in TDL, the government is also going to cutmargin PLN from 8% to 3% from 2012. Dahlan claimed to refer the matter to the government and the parliament.

"So about PLN electricity tariffs and margins will follow the decision of the government and Parliament alone," said Dahlan.

As is known, Agus Martowardojo Finance Minister had earlier said the government would raise the TDL 10-15% from 2012 in order todecrease power subsidy burden that continues to swell. With this increase, the government hopes to save up to Rp 15 trillion subsidy.
