South Africa v Mexico betting preview World Cup 2010

Friday, June 11, 2010

The World Cup kicks off today and the South Africa v Mexico odds show the first World Cup winners in 2010 are set to be the Mexicans.
Home advantage should never be underestimated. South Africa play all their World Cup games at home, which means they’ll have massive home support at all their games and this should see them do very well. In fact no World Cup hosts have ever been eliminated at the group stage so the World Cup Group A odds on South Africa qualifying look very generous at almost 2/1.
As for South Africa v Mexico, Mexico are a decent team. They displayed this in a recent friendly against England. Mexico definitely have a stronger team, but home support for South Africa levels the playing field, the draw is looking a great bet and it is a result both teams would take before the game.
Many probably won’t have heard of Katelgo Mphela but he has an outstanding goal average of a goal every two games for South Africa. He’s well worth a bet for first goalscorer in this match. He should be able to score but there probably won’t be many goals, the South African defence is tough to beat and with four clean sheets in six games it is hard to see them giving many goals away, the 1-1 scoreline makes plenty of appeal.
Betting on the World Cup can be quite difficult, although there are many good bets available, and it’s well worth taking advantage of all the World Cup free bets that are on offer. Click on the link above to see a full list of World Cup free bets.
